Good Coffee & Yummy Creme Brulee in Malacca

Call me a coffee maniac... it's a official secret that I'm very fond of the coffee aroma... not addicted to coffee though... As I don't really need a cup of coffee to kick start my day, but getting to have a cup of it is satisfying :-)

All my friend knew that I'm a hard core fan of Starbucks coffee. But this coffee in this cafe among heritage caught my attention as I was trying out coffee in Malacca town. The taste is balanced and with a slight smoky flavour. I'm more of the dark-roast type, so the coffee here is slightly less satisfying for me. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is still good, but not so much why I intending to visit it again.

The creme brulee is awesome! The crispy top custard is torched just right to give it a firm topping, you can hear the click sound when you hit it with your spoon. When you dig into it, you can see the side of the brulee is filled with tiny vanilla seeds, which gives the brulee a real sweet vanilla taste! The brulee is very firm, as you can see, the wall of the brulee did not slide down to fill up the hole. It's sold at RM15, which is reasonable given the quality of the creme brulee. However, it is only available during the weekends.

I would give the créme brulée 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Solid creamy pudding with frozen hard caramel top crust, each bites deliver the fresh egg aroma with bitter sweet taste. The coffee taste like medium roast with some flora aroma and sweet nutty flavour. Simply enjoyable!

Oh ya, by the way, this is mods cafe in Jalan Tokong of Malacca. They are open only until 6pm, so go early to get more time to savour every bits of the coffee and creme brulee.
